Grand staircase for the Atlantis level of sole. These staircases separate the various tiered districts of the city, and so I wanted them to be particularly ornate (like everything else in the city), since the inhabitants would have to travel these every day.
Extra edge loops were kept to benefit our vertex painting algorithm.

Reservoir model for the Atlantis level of Sole, fed by an aqueduct. Like everything else in the city, even a simple utility structure was designed to be aesthetically ornate.
One of the key structures for the River Level of Sole, the Dam reveals how the inhabitants of the planet harnessed mechanical energy to power their machines.
Plus the idea of sending the player down a giant water-wheel onto an aqueduct was just too cool not to do.
